Despite the fact that the country is running with a heavy debt burden on its head, Alhaji Abacha keeps doing giveaway for the country. What a merciful thing for the dead to do? Anyways, with the constant giveaway, the country debt profile keeps piling, what do you think the country is doing wrong? Could it be that the money is dead because it’s coming from the dead? First I wont call it giveaway, imagine if Abacha had invested the funds, developed the country’s industry and commerce: imagine how much wealth the country would have. The debts keeps rising because those funds don’t have the same rate as they used to be, our naira has fallen globally compare to other international currencies. Even with the recovered funds, we still feed the nation with debts. That’s why we’re still where we are. We need strong and intellectual interventions to come out of global debts then build a nation we are proud of.

@emmanuel i agree that Abacha was selfish and callous for not doing the right thing, but how is that a reason the country is still in debt? Aye, strong and intellectual intervention is a way to go

@lahkanmi, isn’t it obvious that the funds were looted from nation’s wealth? If those funds remained in the system and “used appropriately” for national growth and development I believe our country would be in a better position, but instead, he took it to develop other countries ?

We also lack insight as a nation… with all the fund recovered nothing significant has been achieved with them.
