Exactly a week ago, the Lagos state government declared curfew in the state, giving citizens very limited time to find their way home, little did we know what was about to unfold.

Peaceful protesters at Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos had to stay behind at their location given the limited time to find their way home.

Few minutes after the curfew had started roughly around 7:00PM, it was dark and the protesters were in their jubilant mood as always, there comes the Nigerian Military Soldiers from Bonny Camp, Victoria Island with all their tanks and ammunition in a war-like style, approached the location of the peaceful protesters without any prior warning but rather basing their arrival on the declared curfew.

Prior to their arrival, CCTV cameras at the toll gate were unmounted, the power supply were cut-off. It was all dark, and the peaceful protesters were all in there numbers, singing the national anthem, waving the Nigerian flag, in a patriotic state of mind, they thought the soldiers will join them to uphold the unity of Nigeria, but instead, the massacre begun; they killed over 65 people and injured a lot, they opened up their armory and fired vehemently, footage shows how joyous they were in executing their orders.

Agony, sorrows, pain, tears, blood all over the place. What has just happened ? Why the killings ? Who ordered It.

DJ_Switch, a Nigerian female DJ who was at the location immediately went live on her instagram, pushing the horrible scene down to social media. This got the attention of Nigerians all over the world and Immediately, the Nigerian Defence HQ released a statement from their tweeter handle, condemning all images, tagging them as FAKE, the Lagos state governor will also deny that there were no presence of the Nigerian soldiers at the protest ground.

Here comes the billion dollar question, who is lying, the dead bodies, the injured citizens, the defense HQ or the state governor ?

Rage all over the world, with Nigerians in diaspora staging protests across the world, calling for all diplomatic missions and top political figure in the world to investigate the massacre. World top figures like Hilary Clinton, The Pope, Rhianna, Beyonce e.t.c all got involved asking for the Nigerian government to show accountability and stop denying her citizens their human rights.

And so, the president of Nigeria General Muhammad Buhari was in mute mode, but pressure from international bodies and human rights organization had force him to give a recorded speech, this speech was indeed labeled EMPTY and lack empathy.

A week later, with pressure from international press, the governor of Lagos state and the Military are now easing out gradually as they have now confirmed military presence at the protest ground with the governor confirming there were casualties.

The billion dollar question still remains. WHO ORDERED THE MASSACRE OF PEACEFUL PROTESTERS.
